Tracing Our Path from the Start to the Present
Since 2006, the Institute for Muslim Mental Health (IMMH) has been mobilizing mental health professionals interested in caring for Muslims to exchange resources, disseminate original research on Muslim mental health, trained professionals and community leaders, mentored students and young professionals, and connected American Muslims to mental health services.
The Institute for Muslim Mental Health is committed to optimizing emotional health and well being through research, education, training, and a network of mental health professionals to serve the community.
To ensure the long-term mental health and well-being of the Muslim community through culturally relevant, accessible, and evidence-based preventative interventions.
At our core, we are Muslim mental health advocates dedicated to fostering a connected network through our educational platforms, comprehensive therapist directory, and robust mentorship initiatives. Our research aims to fuels innovation, while our professional development empowers providers to serve the Muslim community and ensure broad access to care.
Why IMMH?
We launched a professional membership to further coordinate mental health professionals interested in caring for Muslims. Members will have access to slide sets to provide lectures to community and professional audiences on various mental health topics. Members will contribute and have access to a blog and newsletter articles to exchange information about innovative services, clinical pearls, how to address controversial issues, and ways to better address the emotional needs of the Muslim community. Members will be provided with a biannual summary of the newest research on Muslim mental health. Members will have access to a community of professionals and scholars with shared interests and aspirations.
